About the Blog:
The Power of Story
If you want to change yourself, your community, or the world, you must first understand the power of story. And the most powerful stories aren’t on television or at the movies, rather, they are the stories we tell to each other in the way we live our lives. If you understand what makes a good story, you understand what makes a good life.
What makes a good story?
In Donald Miller’s book, A Million Miles in a Thousand Years, he defines a good story as:
A character who wants something and is willing to overcome conflict to get it.
With stories,
- Life is more exciting
- Life is more meaningful
- Life is more memorable
Miller sees stories as an invention of God. God uses stories to mold our lives and change our character. God uses story to adjust our moral compass.
It’s time to abandon your mundane life for something better.
